Once again, we had the privilege of bringing smiles to the faces of over 270 disadvantaged children and teenagers. At our locations in Regensburg, Neutraubling, and Nittenau alone, our employees gathered over 500 gifts. Thanks to this initiative, the Christmas wishes of young people from seven social institutions, children from foster families in the region around our headquarters, and some young adults aged 17 to 20 facing special challenges were realized.

The head of one of these institutions commented: “Even though they unfortunately cannot witness it directly, I can assure everyone involved at Krones: The shining eyes of the children and their gratitude are the most beautiful reward for our work. It is impressive to see each year anew how the Krones employees dedicate themselves to this campaign.”

We are delighted that the Christmas campaign is such a highlight every year – for long-standing employees, but also for our young colleagues from the apprenticeship program, for whom this tradition was a premiere this year.

In December, the Diversity Board once again invited all female colleagues around the world to meet (virtually) and exchange ideas as part of the internal women’s network women@Krones. The topic of this event: United by Diversity. For an hour, colleagues from South Africa, Kenya, Morocco, and the United Arab Emirates provided insights into their daily work and described their career paths. A common theme emerged from many of them: In rather male-dominated industries such as mechanical and plant engineering, it is often more challenging for women to make their voices heard and to work their way into leadership positions. Difficult, but not impossible, as the careers of the speakers prove! With a clear goal in mind and the courage to tackle and change things, they all lead teams in their respective fields today.
The networking event with insights from colleagues of the region Africa and the Middle East was already the second international meeting held this year. Back in May, the focus was on the role of women in India, a main theme brought to life by a lecture from the former German ambassador to India and voices from local colleagues.

In addition to the two international events, there were also two events in 2024 for all female colleagues in Germany – both centred around the topic of leadership in part-time or tandem arrangements. Each of these lectures was followed by a lively Q&A and discussion session, highlighting the great interest in this topic. Krones is on the right track with its various offerings around the compatibility of career and family!
