Artificial intelligence is developing rapidly and increasingly shaping our day-to-day work. At Krones, AI is already a part of many work processes. To ensure that we can harness the opportunities offered by these technologies without exposing ourselves to risks, Krones is now introducing a mandatory training course for all employees on the responsible use of AI.

With this step, we are deliberately sending a clear signal: We are actively driving this topic forward, taking responsibility and establishing clear foundations for the secure and legally compliant use of modern AI solutions.

What does the training cover?

The new training provides comprehensive foundational knowledge about artificial intelligence and generative AI. It explains how these technologies work, where their limitations lie, and which potential risks must be considered – for example regarding data protection, copyright or error-prone model results

At the same time, employees learn which AI tools are officially approved for use at Krones and why sensitive information must under no circumstances be entered into publicly accessible AI applications.

Legally compliant use of AI

The training ensures that all employees are familiar with and comply with both our internal policies and the requirements of the new EU AI Act. This comprehensive, risk-based regulatory framework governs the use of AI in the EU by prohibiting abusive systems, defining strict requirements for high-risk applications, and establishing clear transparency obligations – protecting fundamental rights while enabling innovation.

After successfully completing the training, employees receive authorization to use internal, secure AI solutions. This allows us to drive innovation in a targeted and controlled manner without compromising security, compliance, or our corporate values.

Krones Processing India, a leading engineering and manufacturing partner for process engineering turnkey solutions, has successfully completed the comprehensive audit process conducted by the internationally recognised certification body LRQA. The company now officially meets the requirements of ISO 3834-2 and the AD 2000 HP0 code.

The audits focused in particular on welding processes, quality assurance and manufacturing and testing procedures. The two-stage assessment took place from 28 to 29 November 2025 and from 28 to 29 January 2026.

ISO 3834-2 – highest welding quality

Certification to ISO 3834-2, the highest quality level for fusion welding, confirms the establishment of an internationally recognised welding quality management system. It ensures safety and quality for pressure-bearing and hygienically sensitive systems, strengthens traceability and documentation and elevates compliance to a new level. At the same time, the established processes are consistently aligned with international best practices – a clear competitive advantage in global markets.

AD 2000 HP0 – access to the European market

The AD 2000 HP0 approval is a key prerequisite for the manufacture of pressure equipment for the European market. It confirms authorisation to manufacture in accordance with the AD 2000 code and stands for the highest level of competence and safety in pressure-bearing products.

Importance for the global Krones network

The simultaneous achievement of both certifications marks an important milestone for Krones. It strengthens Krones Processing India as a production site and opens new opportunities in performance-driven markets. The site further positions itself as a qualified production hub within the global Krones network, particularly in welded and pressure-bearing components for the brewing, beverage, dairy and food industries.

This milestone reflects the unwavering commitment, deep technical know how, and outstanding cooperation of the whole team.
